The Vision, Mission and Quality Policy of the institution are all oriented towards the holistic development of the student, which is evident during admissions. Suryodaya College of Engineering and Technology, Nagpur is the most preferred college and almost seats are filled by engineering qualified students. The institution’s focus has been to impart quality education coupled with overall development of the students. To achieve this, the Institution encourages students to participate in various activities: 

SCET makes continual attempts to fulfil its social responsibility to rural students, primarily first-generation learners, to pursue higher education and achieve greater success, both professionally and economically. The college’s founding has also offered career prospects for the area’s rural residents. 

  1. CSED : “Centre for Skill and Entrepreneurship Development”

The CSED started in Feb 2022 with objective is to Impart Industry Skills related to Industry 4.0 so that students become employable and also provide a platform to incubate the Ideas to a commercial product.

CSED is Industry Inside an Institute, major Technology grants like Dassault system, PTC & Master CAM are our technology provider of CSED. Dsymech Competency services (DCS) is the system integrator , this is the first of its kind Skills and Entrepreneurship development centre in Maharashtra, where in students will be imparted project based learning.  This centre provides skills in two domains i.e., smart Manufacturing and Industrial Internet of Things (IIOT).

The Incubation centre of CSED will provide Incubation for start-ups. It will provide complete equipment’s for start-up.

CSED is playing a major role to bridge the gap between the Institute and Industry. CSED is just like a catalyst to enhances employability, opportunity and empower young youths to become entrepreneur and will act as strong linkage between Industry-institute.

  1. SPICES : “Scheme for Promoting Interest Creativity and ethics among students”

SPICES students club support overall development of students by promoting their interests, creativity and ethics. The club helps to facilitating entity for pursuit of Industrial Interests, Creative work, showing talent, networking and teamwork opportunities, social experience, organization and management skill expose to professional ethics. The object and club is to render the services undertaken by the five departments as follows:

  2. Old age Homes and orphanage Department
  3. Environmental Department
  4. Women Empowerment Department
  5. Social Impart department

Our Institute has actively participating in street cause activities and receives appreciation from Police departments, Industry, educational institution periodically.

  1. Student Centric Methods 

The Institutions make use of innovative teaching learning methodologies to enhance the learning experience of the students. The students receive a holistic education in house training, Seminars, Workshops, Guest Lectures and Value Added Courses. The faculty makes use of ICT tools like Power point presentations, Google class room, Online content, outbound training, flipped class rooms and blended learning to enhance their knowledge. 

  1. NPTEL /MOOCs Courses 

To develop self-learning skills, students are encouraged to obtain a certification in online courses before the completion of the programme from reputed agencies such as NPTEL, Coursera and to enhance academic knowledge on latest topics Faculty are encouraged to complete one MOOC for each semester. During the last three years the faculty members and students have completed NPTEL certification courses. The Institute policy is to refund the examination fees of 50% after acquiring the certificate.

  1. Projects 

Students at UG degree levels take up Internships from industries and pursue their projects which give them hands on training in their field of interest. Special motivation and innovative counselling are also provided for further research. 

  1. Service Learning 

Students are participating in local community development activities such as, visits to social welfare centres, cleaning campaigns, and the distribution of free fruits and clothing. Students can also learn about the harsh facts of life, acquire social skills and become responsible through these student-led programmes. 

  1. University Ranks 

Our students consistently performed well in semester examinations and secured University ranks. 

  1. Ideation Contest: 

Student chapter of Entrepreneurship Development cell named SWAYAM was established to help them to become entrepreneurs. The Entrepreneurship Cell is a manifestation of the efforts, ideas, dreams and aspirations of not one, but of many people who are associated with it. It was established to develop and nourish the latent entrepreneurial spirit which is inherent in every student, so as to help them gain a broader and more importantly entrepreneurial perspective of looking at life in every situation thus empowering them to become Entrepreneurs. The courses are offered as open electives in collaboration with Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University.

  1. NRDR’s Financial Assistance: 

With a view to provide assistance to the needy students studying in the institution and belonging to disadvantaged and socio-economically weaker sections of the society, guidelines have been formulated by the society to internal scholarship. Every year 150 students are benefitted under their scheme.

  1. AQIS : “AICTE Quality Improvement Scheme”

The Institute received grant for the development of students and faculty members.
