To produce professional mechanical engineers who can meet the changing requirements of the dynamic scenario of the country & the world with human values & responsive to the ecology with an aptitude for R & D work.


Develop the positive attitude, entrepreneurial abilities and impacting personality. Develop faculty regularly in current & emerging technologies and effective educational practices. Build mutually beneficial linkages with industry and alumni. Ensure learning from industrial visits & training and projects. Facilitate students learning, achieve a high success rate and better employment.

The educational objectives for the Mechanical Engineering program are designed to produce competent engineers who are ready to contribute effectively to the advancement of mechanical engineering causes and to accommodate the needs of the community. The objectives of the department are to give students a broad exposure to all areas of Mechanical Engineering and mold them to be technically competent and place them ahead in the race for quality employment and to enable the students to acquire practical experience in Mechanical Engineering discipline through design projects and opportunities to work with faculty in research. The department works to mold the students to become future engineers, scientists, researchers, and innovators and make substantial contributions to the society of mechanical engineers.

Energy Conversion – II

Students will be able to:-
1. Understand working and carry performance analysis of reciprocating compressor.
2. Learn construction, operation and analysis of internal combustion engines.
3. Assimilate various refrigeration cycles and their application.

Energy Conversion – III

Students will be able to:-
1. Learn various turbo machines used for energy conversion.
2. Perceive the significance of various energy conservation techniques.
3. Acquire the knowledge of various hydraulic and pneumatic techniques used in industries.

Refrigeration & Air Conditioning

Students will be able to:-
1. Understand various refrigeration and air conditioning processes.
2. Know various components used in VCRS.
3. Compute COP of various refrigeration and air conditioning systems.

Heat Transfer

Students will be able to:-
1. Learn basic modes of heat transfer and validate laws of heat transfer.
2. Compute thermal conductivity of material in conduction and heat transfer coefficient in forced as well as natural convection.
3. Understand and investigate the significance of Stefan Boltzmann constant in radiation heat transfer.


Students will be able to:-
1. To understand key elements of mechatronics systems, to identify various inputs and output devices in an automated system.
2. To understand and draw ladder diagrams, interfacing of input and output device.
3. To get aware about actuating systems, microprocessors & microcontroller.

Dynamics of Machines

Students will be able to:-
1. To understand the method of dynamic force analysis of machinery.
2. To understand the concept of vibratory systems and their analysis.
3. To study the effect of undesirable effects of unbalances in rotors and engines.

Computer Aided Design

Students will be able to:-
1. To learn the difference between convention & CAD design.
2. To learn theory and practice related to solid modeling, assembly modeling, drafting, and parametric modeling.
3. To learn theory and practice related to numerical method for designing & analysis of mechanical components.

Machine Design

Students will be able to:-
1. Conversant with fundamental aspects of mechanical drives.
2. Develop statistical skills in designing various drives.
3. Develop competency in analytical methods in solving problems of design of mechanical drives.

Engineering Metallurgy

Students will be able to:-
1. To understand the concepts of crystal structure, microstructure and deformation.
2. To learn the atomic structure of metals, imperfections, various ferrous & nonferrous metals & their alloys.
3. To acquire the knowledge of phase diagrams, various ferrous & nonferrous metals & alloys with engineering applications.

Mechanical Measurement & Metrology

Students will be able to:-
1. To study various measurement systems and their significance along with the characteristics and order of the instruments.
2. To understand the concepts of force measurement, Static characteristics of instrument.
3. To understand various instruments for the measurement of different parameters, tolerances & use of precision measuring instruments.
